I recently reviewed a hair analysis test of a 65-year-old male.  He had a high level of bismuth on his hair analysis.  Why did he have elevated bismuth?  There are numerous sources of bismuth, including:

  • Hair dyes
  • Wart treatments
  • Cosmetics
  • Burn ointments
  • Antiseptic powders
  • Dentistry
  • Superconductors
  • Products used for G.I. disturbances
  • and others

Here is an image below of his hair analysis revealing an elevated bismuth level above reference range.  As you can see, his bismuth level is at .091, which is quite elevated above the reference range.

Hair Analysis Test:  What is the Source of his Bismuth Exposure?

I did speak to the man to discuss where his exposure to bismuth might be coming from.  I mentioned some of the sources above and he knew right away that the burn ointments he was using contained bismuth.  He did not have any burns on his skin.  He was applying burn creams because of having some skin irritation.

Be Careful What You Put on Your Skin

It is important to be aware of what you are putting on your skin.  Your skin does absorb what you put on it.  Always read the ingredients on labels of skincare and cosmetic products.  Avoid any products that contain toxins.  Use only natural or organic products.

Hair Analysis Test

Bismuth is a toxic metal revealed on a hair analysis.  My favorite test is a hair analysis, which reveals minerals and toxic metals.  Hair analysis is a wonderful way to find out if you have had any toxic metal exposures and then you can brainstorm to identify the sources.  Toxic metals can cause every imaginable symptom.  It is important to reduce your exposure to toxins.

Tips

  • Always pay attention to what you are putting on your skin.  Avoid any toxins.  Choose only skincare and beauty products that are all natural or organic.  Toxins that are in products can be absorbed into the body.

  • If your skin is dry and you feel you need a moisturizer, you can use organic shea butter or olive oil.  Once you get healthier and your body chemistry becomes more balanced, it is best to not apply any products on the skin.  Make sure you drink plenty of spring water to stay hydrated.

  • For any skin disorders, zinc oxide ointment can be effective, especially preventing and healing scars due to a copper imbalance. Copper affects the connective tissues, such as the skin hair, and nails.
